Last weekend Jeff and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary! It's crazy to think our wedding was a year ago. So much has happened since then - we laughed that we've crammed so many 'life-changing' events into 2 years....
- First with our engagement in July 2007
- ALL the wedding planning to follow
- Buying our house in the midst of it
- Our wedding on May 17th
- An awesome 2 week honeymoon to Italy in June
- In July we adopted Austin our Golden Retriever from an animal rescue organization
- In October we found out we're preggers!
And since October our life hasn't slowed down, preparing for Jillian. But really, our life hasn't slowed down since July 2007 when we got engaged. I know I'm leaving out A LOT of other big events over the past 2 years, but I thought I'd hit just the high notes.
What a wonderful, amazing, emotional, exhilarating, and sometimes exhausting roller-coaster Jeff and I have been on together. There is no one else in the world I'd rather share all this with than Jeff. He truly is my best friend - I never knew I could love someone like I love him (ok, I'm starting to tear up - I'm just going to blame my sappiness on being 35 weeks pregnant). I am so excited to see what life holds for us over the next year and many many years to follow!
Last weekend we stayed Saturday night at the Four Seasons, to be nostalgic and remember our wedding and all the fun memories we made there. Neither one of us had been back since our wedding a year ago. We had a great time, (even with Saturday being mostly rainy) we ate at Tavern on the Green which was where we had our first dinner-date as a married couple the day after we got married.
After dinner we walked around the hotel, saw the ballroom again, the place where we had our private dinner the night of our wedding, and remembered all the great times we had just a year ago. During our journey down memory-lane we saw the Wedding Planning Offices, and I saw thru the glass door something that caught my eye. I did a U-turn and peered in thru the doors and said to Jeff 'honey, those pictures look like us' He peers in and at the same time we realize they have posted 3 pictures of us on one of their walls. We had no idea! I'm flattered they chose our pictures to put on display, but I was kind of shocked they didn't tell us.
Sunday morning we slept in, ate breakfast outside by the pool in the sun, laid out for for a few hours and then packed our bags to take Austin to the Dog Bowl at Cotton Field! This was SO FUN!!! We learned about the Dog Bowl in our neighborhood Association Newsletter - everyone with a dog is welcome to bring their dog to Cotton Field, unleash them on the football field and let all the dogs run around. It was advertised as the 'largest dog park in Texas' for that day. Jeff and I had been so excited about taking Austin for the week leading up and let me tell you - we were not let down. There were dogs everyone - I'd guess 500 or so...??
We also met our friends Caitlin and Chad with their 10 week old puppy, Charlie. Charlie is ADORABLE!!
