5 Months!

I cant believe our perfect little Angel is 5 months old! On one hand it seems like time has flown by, on the other I can't remember what life was like before we had Jillian. She is a wonderful and perfect gift from God!
So let's get to it, here's Jililan in a nutshell at 5 months:

~Such a happy baby! (as long as she's fed and gets her 3 naps a day:) )
~ LOVES her bouncy and jumping. This entertains her for 15-20 minutes at a time.
~Wears size 2 diapers (but is about to graduate to 2/3 diapers). We still have not had to go out and buy diapers one time! We were so stocked up from our diaper shower before Jillian was born!
~ Eats solids. Is not crazy about rice or oatmeal, but LOVES bananas! I mean really loves - Eats every single bite. Today I introduced avocado and she hated it.
~ Had little interest in rolling over until today! Today she rolled over twice all by herself from her tummy to back.
~ Loves standing with little help (after I stand her up)
~ LOVES Austin. I mean LOVES. If she is upset or fussy, I call Austin over and she's instantly happy. He is her biggest source of entertainment. Here they are a few days ago; yep, he's licking her hand. Almost impossible to stop. I wash those little hands all day long!
~I think she knows when another baby is around. She stares at the other baby. Mariam came over today with her 6 month old Leila, and they stared at eachother. so cute! We keep telling Jillian and Leila - here's your friend! They really won't have a choice in the matter, they're going to be friends :)
~ Started wearing 6 month sizes a few weeks ago. I was soooo sad to put up all her 3 month clothing.
~ Starting to giggle more and more - which is the sweetest noise in the world! She giggles when you give her raspberries on her tummy.

Here's Jillian chillin' in her bumbo. She just looked too cute the other day not to snap photos. She was wearing Gradma Ellen's outfit & shoes from Mema. Gotta love it when all I had to add to the outfit is a bow!
Oh Jillian, we hope you know just how immensely loved you are! You are truly the most wonderful blessing!

Sunday Best & Playdates!

Jillian and I have been on the go a lot lately, that's why I've been MIA in the blog world. We've had lots of playdates, shopping (I've already started Christmas shopping for her... ummm.... I think I'm going to go WAY over board. Oh well!) and this week we'll start getting ready for Thanksgiving!!! We're heading to El Paso to see Jeff's family for the week - Jillian is SOOO excited to see her Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins again!

Last week Jillian met Grayer - what an adorable boy! He's 10 months old and just precious! His mom, Pam, went to A&M and we were Sorority sisters in DDD. Grayer sat in his big boy highchair and happily fed himself lunch while Pam and I chatted. I wish I could say Jillian behaved so well :) We were at lunch when she usually naps, so after about 45 mins of being happy, she got tired and then a little fussy.
Here's Grayer, smiling and feeding himself. So cute!

A close-up of that smile!
Jillian was happy too! Love that smile of hers :)

Here is Jillian in her Sunday best! About a month ago, we finally got up enough courage to leave her in the nursery, while we went to church. (she was just getting too active to stay with us in church) They are WONDERFUL at Park Cities Baptist. All the ladies wear scrubs over their clothing and no one is allowed to walk into the nursery, except the ladies who care for the babies - they do all this to keep it extremely sanitary. Which I love! When I pick up Jillian she usually is exhausted, and ready for a nap. I guess she's just having too much fun with all her friends to sleep!

Here a couple quick photos I took on the way to church. After further looking at the dress she's wearing, I think it's a tunic top. Not a dress. Oh well, it was really cute as a dress too :)

Scotland

Nope, we're not going to Scotland. I'd be really fun if we were though.
One of my really good friends Jen (she was a Bridesmaid in our wedding), just moved there with her hubby Clifton. He got a promotion in his job, and they'll be there for 3 years and then move back to the States. How cool is that??!! Be Newlyweds and live in Scotland? She just started a blog, check it out. Warning: you might get a little jealous. I think she said they're going to Paris and London over Christmas and New Years. Again - how cool is that??

Halloween Pics!

I know I'm behind on posting Halloween pictures, but here they are, better late than never!

This is her flower costume. I took these pics late in the day when she wasn't too full of smiles. I plan on re-taking some this weekend. Again - better late than never!

Here is Jillian in her ladybug costume - she was much happier during this photoshoot.

I just had to include Jillian in her favorite Jammie's for the month of October. I just loved the Pumkin on her Bumkin :)

Vacay to Key Largo

Jeff and I haven't been on a vacation together since our Honeymoon to Italy last June.... so needless to say, we were long over due. We planned the trip long before Jillian even arrived and my mom kept telling me how hard it would be to leave her. And boy was she right. We missed out little punkin dearly, but loved being away and having our own lazy schedule.

My parents were wonderful to keep her the 4 days we were gone. Thank you!! My mom just recently learned out to text, and now she's addicted to it :) She sent me 5-6 texts every day updating me on Jillian.

We went the weekend before Halloween, no way were we missing dressing Jillian up! We took off Thursday and came back Sunday afternoon; it certainly wasn't a long trip, but just long enough with a 4 month old at home. We spent our vacay sleeping in, going out to eat, reading books and of course laying out on the beach!

Friday we went fishing most of the day. Yes, I do love to fish although I will not touch the bait or the fish. So I'm by no means a professional Angler.

I had to include the following picture for these reasons: 1. No, our guide was not a terrorist. 2. the Spanish Mackrel (no idea how to spell that) has razor sharp teeth, just like a piranha, and our guide had that thing about 6 inches from my face. Really?! Like I said, I don't touch fish, let alone want one with teeth near me or my face. 3. The fact our guide put that belt on me, cracked me up. That was the biggest fish we caught all day, I didn't need the belt. At least I didn't think so.
Balcony of our hotel room:
Lazy day reading and getting some much needed sun. Even with applying SPF 30 multiple times a day, I came home with a nasty sunburn. Guess that happens when you spend all summer indoors.
Ahhh.... so relaxing!
Dinner one night. We had delicious seafood all weekend. I'm not a big seafood person either, but everything was delicious!
So glad to be back home with our daughter! I now have the itch to travel, but next time we'll take Jillian with us.
