More Smiles!

So I'm trying something new - our Mac has a video editor and I decided to play with it today. Here is a video of Jillian over the weekend at my parents house, happy as can be! Don't mind my high-pitched voice - ugh! (Why is it when you hear yourself you hate your voice?) I wish this was in better quality, it's great on my computer but so fuzzy here. I'll keep playing with it.

A few more smiling pics!
Our weekend was fun, we spent Thurs & Fri night at my parents because Jeff had conferences out in Colleyville and it was my High School reunion Friday night - gotta love free babysitters!
My 10 year reunion (how can I be that old??) was really fun! I went to a small private school so I knew everyone I graduated with and about 25 of my classmates showed up. So fun to catch up with everyone, but I felt like I was in high school again. We all met up at a bar and everyone cut off into their normal HS clicks for most of the night. I have to brag on Jeff for being SO sweet and going with me without any complaints! Here we are heading out Friday night.

I just have to share these pics from last week. Jillian's pediatrician doesn't have kids, and here is a great case in point where he's lacking experience (he's a great Dr though, we really like him): He lives a few houses down from us and our dogs are BFF, so I see him quite a bit. He's told me a few times to get Jillian sunglasses for our morning jog to protect her eyes. So I finally did......

Glad I snapped a few photos b/c these glasses lasted all of about 3 minutes on our run before they were slipping off and she was crying. So much for an infant wearing sunglasses!

A day in the Life....

Of a 3 month old! That's right, today is sweet Jillian's 3 month birthday!
I thought I'd document what her day was like, which is pretty much like most days. So this blog post might be a little boring for some, but I'm sure grandmothers will enjoy :) And there's some cute pics.

So Jillian woke up today at 7:15 - she usually wakes up around 7:30, but I guess she was too excited to sleep in since she's now a big 3 month old. She woke up all smiles and happy as can be, just like always :) The second picture is a little fuzzy, but I just had to post it since it's a half smile. Now that she's so aware of her surroundings, the camera is something new to her. I can have her smiling & cooing like crazy but as soon as the camera or video camera appears - she stares at the camera with that intense 'what is that' look. Which means no more smiles. She's just too curious I guess.

I fed her, then it was Bumbo and chair time.... She cant stay awake too long in the morning, so by 830ish she was back down for a nap.

She has a hard time making it past the 45 minute mark on naps (we're working on that), so she was awake at 915ish and it was swing time! She usually stays there until her next feeding, so she can be in la-la land and maybe catch another cat-nap. She ate again at 10:15, then it was play time on Baby Einstein.

After this Jillian and I usually head out for errands, but today...... Jeff came home for lunch!!
Getting sleepy again.....
It was then time for another nap - she was asleep by 11:45 and slept til 2:30!! What??!! I even fell asleep for an hour and a half. This was by far the longest nap she's ever taken! She woke up soooo happy! So after I fed her, we didn't have her usual playtime but had a little photo shoot instead.

In her crib

Ok, I have a confession: I pulled a 'Jeff' today. After our little photo shoot, I thought to myself 'the back of her dress is so cute'. Well, that's because I had it on her backwards! Yep, I pulled a Jeff. He puts more clothes on her backwards, it cracks me up.

Then it was the ever dreaded tummy time!
She is happy as can be for about 10 minutes, then she's had enough!
Then it was time for another nap and she ate at 5pm. We played for a while then we went on a long walk with Austin, since the rain finally cleared! Jeff got home around 6:30, just in time for her bath. I fed her at 7:10 and she was asleep by 745! I'll do a dreamfeed at 10pm - I finally figured out how to do that - which is the CUTEST thing ever since she's fast asleep the whole time. If tonight is like every other night, she'll wake up around 5am wanting to eat (she's eating less and less, so I'm crossing my fingers we can drop this feeding soon), I'll quickly feed her and then we'll start out tomorrow at 7:30am!

I know I've said this one million times - but she is just SO fun! She's learning so much right now, and I just love spending each day with her. What a wonderful blessing from God!

More Newborn Photos!

Here are some more of the great photos Debra took when Jillian was 4 weeks old.

(I finally took the time to learn Picasa 3.0 - thank you Kristen for the tip - so here is my fancy slideshow :) )

WHOOP!

Here is our little Aggie for her very first football game day (which is a big deal in the Gulbas household)! So of course we did a little photoshoot of Jeff with Jillian, proud in their Aggie gear. Ironically, both outfits they are wearing are from Jeff's brother Shale, and he's a Longhorn :) Gotta love it.
Sadly, the Aggies are terrible this year, but we won our first game. We had a few friends over Saturday night, and watching OU lose to BYU was icing on the cake. Here's Jeff and Jillian pre-game day party.
Here's Jeff showing Jillian how to Gig 'Em (if you look closely, she's giving a thumbs up)

On a separate note, here is a picture from last week, it was my dad's birthday and we took him out to dinner. Happy Birthday Dad!

Playdate & Bumbo!!

Saturday Jeff, Jillian and I had a playdate with the Laughlins and their twins! It was really fun! Her babies have grown so much, they're simply adorable! We loved getting to see them, and of course talk about our kids. It's so refreshing to talk with other parents and know we're all going through the same fun, exciting, amazing roller-coaster of parenting together.

Here is a picture of Kristen and I with our babies. Isn't Kristen TINY for having twins in April?? Not to mention, I look ghostly white next to her :)

Jillian also tried out for the first time a Bumbo Seat! We now use ours on a daily basis; she loves it and I think she feels like such a big girl sitting up.
Here's Jillian with her little friend London.

I love London's face in the picture. Jillian, I think was still figuring out what we had her in.
London sitting all prim and proper. Jillian still getting used to it :)

Here are a few pictures of Jillian at home. She loves sitting outside!
A profile shot for ya
Thanks for having us over Kristen & David!
