Trip to Austin

A few weeks ago we headed down to Austin for a long weekend.  Jeff had work he needed to do, and I just wanted to take the roadtrip with him.  This was the first time all 3 of us stayed in a hotel room together, and it went wonderfully!   Jillian slept all night happily in her Pack & Play for 3 nights.  Naps were a different story...  they happened in the car.

While Jeff worked, we played.  I took Jillian to our State Capitol Building.  We wanted to meet Rick Perry, but he wasn't at work that day either.
Running through the Senate Floor.
Near our hotel was a great shopping area and these urban fountains.  Jillian clearly loved it.

Having a successful road trip behind us is giving me the itch to travel more.  So we are off to San Antonio next month for 4 days.  Again, so Jeff can work while Jill and I play at Sea World!

Mom's Day Out

Oh. My. Word.  Do I love Mother's Day out!  I love having a few uninterrupted hours to myself.  I also love Jillian getting to play with other kiddos and learn there is more to her little world than just mommy.   Her first day at 'school' was Monday and I was really nervous about a couple things:  1.  would she nap?  They have individual cribs for each child, but I was terrified she'd scream the whole time.  2.  Would she get sick?  I know it's coming being so close to other kids, but hopefully not for while.  3. Would she think I'd abandoned her?  I've never left her with someone other than family for more than a couple hours, and this would be six!

I didn't take one picture from her first day of 'school' because I got so caught up in getting out the door, dropping her off, saying bye, and then LOVING on her when I picked her up.  The teachers gave a great report saying she had a wonderful first day!    She cried a little when I dropped her off, but when I peeked in the window 5 minutes later, she was calming down.  Her teachers said she had fun playing, and she even napped for a full hour!  I was soooo relieved.   When I picked her up she looked 'fresh' I was worried she'd look exhausted.
I on the other hand, decided I'd spend my first day MDO doing mostly fun things.  After a quick trip to the vet, I was off to the mall where I spent most of my time and it was so fun!!

I'm looking forward to next Monday, and I think Jillian is too.  We both had fun!

Jillian's Birth Story Book

I have been meaning to make a scrapbook of Jillian's birth since she was born.  All I needed was motivation.  I saw Kristin's birth story book for her daughter (her blog is private, so no link) and it was BEAUTIFUL!  That was the inspiration I needed.   I figured since I wrote her entire birth story on this blog it wouldn't take too long - wrong!!  Still took quite a while, but I'm SO glad I did it.

The book came in last week and it has instantly become one of Jillian's favorite books.  She loves to sit down and look at all the pictures, since she recognizes everyone.

Friends

Kristen recently came over with her PRECIOUS twins!  Jillian had so much fun playing with them, and I had so much fun watching them!

Look at this cutie pie.  And her curls!

Jones decided to play with Jillian's walker.   Jillian saw this and was NOT happy.  She came over, ripped it away from him and ran off.  Not one of her better moments.  Sorry Jones!!

Jillian and London deciding to hug it out.

London trying to hold Jillian's hands.

'I bless you child'

Leila invited Jillian over the other day.
Leila decided to hug it out with Jillian.

The girls kept bringing me books and sitting in my lap.
I'm so glad Mariam snapped a picture; it was so cute!

Over the weekend the girls went swimming and then got a bath.  How cute are they all wrapped up in towels!?

Football Season Starts TODAY!

Today was the home-opener for the Aggies!  Jeff took care of Jillian this morning and guess what I found when I saw these two this morning: the two of them snuggled up on the coach reading a book and Jillian already in her full A&M get-up.  Her A&M cheerleader outfit, even with a bow in her hair!  I was so impressed!  Clearly Jeff was excited.

The weather was SOOO gorgeous went went outside all morning to play.

Our 10 year old neighbor, Braden, saw us outside and joined us.  Braden is just so sweet with Jill.  He watches her and carries her everywhere!  He seriously watches her more closely than I do!

Breakfast - with the matching bib :)
(that's not all she ate, that was her appetizer!)

Also went to the park.

Jeff then headed off to College Station for the game and my parents came over!  After we had lunch out, we played in the backyard.  My mom got a towel to sit on, and Jillian ran over and scooted her little hiney on the towel too!  So darn cute!
We striped her down to her bloomers and let her play....

I have a feeling Jillian will be wearing her A&M outfit every single Saturday :)

BFF's

Jillian and Austin are best friends.  They entertain each other all the time.  They have so many games just between the two of them, it's so cute to watch.  She loves to feed him from her high chair. She chases him.  He chases her and she squeals.  He gets a tennis ball, teases her, then she chases him.  She loves to pat (pet) him.   They are going to have so much more fun together once she can play fetch with him.

I snapped a few pictures of the besties the other day when Jillian kept disrupting Austin's nap.
