I love Milk!

Jillian is such a happy 4 month old! She is so much more relaxed now, smiles are easy to get, and she loves tummy time :0 ! Here's a picture of that beautiful smile!

We recently went to the Dr for her 4 month check-up and everything looks great! It was there my suspicions about her being a pretty aggressive eater were confirmed ;) I thought she'd felt heavier and heavier, and I was so curious what she weighed. She weighed 15 pds 4 oz. I thought that sounded just fine until they told me where she on was the growth chart. She's at the 90th percentile on weight.... ummm... what? I kind of freaked out when the Dr told me that. He didn't seemed concerned at all and told me that since Jillian is exclusively on breast milk it was no biggie. He'd be concerned if she weighed that much on formula. Something about breast milk having brown fat, which is a good fat and quickly goes away. Either way, our little one LOVES her milk!
Apparently Jeff was a chubby baby - another way she's just like her daddy!

This week we started her on rice cereal. She is very confused with eating from a spoon. She looks like a little fish kind of sucking it into her mouth. Then she spits it right back out and smiles.... too cute! Here she is little confused by the spoon.
After she masters eating cereal, I'm so excited to start cooking for her. We have a great Farmers Market in downtown, so I'm going to stock up on organic fruits and veggies. I love to cook and think cooking food for her will be really fun.

Jillian loves standing, bouncing, sitting up, and being held. She also loves looking in the mirror and seeing the baby in the reflection! Always gets a giggle and a smile. Here she is having fun looking at herself.
Her hair keeps getting blonder and blonder :) All it needs to do now is get a little longer. But I do love how she doesn't have much hair, keeps her looking like a baby!

Houston!

Two weekends ago Jeff, Jillian, my parents and me all headed down to Houston. One of our good friends was getting married and Jeff was a groomsman. My parents came along to babysit while we were at the wedding Saturday night. My parents and I decided this would be a great time to visit our family down in Houston, so I skipped out on the Rehearsal dinner so we could take Jillian to meet her second cousins and great grandpa. We had a great time, but it was so short! We got into town Friday afternoon and visited with family til Saturday afternoon before we had to head to the wedding. Jillian was a great little traveler, during the 5 hr trip, she hardly napped (only two 30 minute naps) but was surprisingly content strapped into her carseat for so long. She was highly entertained by my mom in the backseat, so she wasn't bored!

Here is Taylor, Tyler and Jillian. There were so great with Jillian, I was really impressed!
Jillian loooooved her second cousin Taylor, who is 5! Anytime Taylor was in the room, Jillian would watch her intently. Taylor was enamored with Jillian, so I had a little helper while I was there!
Here is Jillian meeting her Great Grandpa - Papa - for the first time!
Four Generations!
We had a great time visiting family, and of course seeing our friends get married. It was a whirlwind trip, but hopefully we can make it back down to Houston again soon!

So this is what happens when Jeff babysits and has the camera handy.... dress up time!
Here she is in her Aunt Jamima doo-rag. (no idea how to spell that)

Here she is wearing Jeff's Cowboy hat

One of Jillian's new favorite things is standing up.... she loves it!

Jeff met us at the mall one day for lunch and a little shopping, and she was zonked in the Baby Bjorn. Too cute!

Happy Birthday Jeff!

Saturday was Jeff's birthday, he turned 29.... next year is the dreaded 30. Boooo!

Friday night we had Caitlin and Chad over for dinner, it was so fun seeing them again. Oh how things have changed; we used to stay up so late just talking with them before little Jillian came along, but at 10:45 I thought I was going to fall asleep in my wine glass :)
Here we are for an impromptu singing of Happy Birthday.

Saturday morning we got up, played with our sweet little baby, got everyone dressed in Aggie gear, packed up Austin and Jillian and headed over to Bama's house. We dropped off Jillian at noon because Jeff and I were going to the A&M vs Arkansas game at Jerryworld!! We had such a fun day together! We met up with friends at 2 for a late-lunch and then caught a party bus at 4, and tail-gated with friends til the game started. I have to agree with all the hoop-la regarding the new stadium - it's jaw-dropping. Even though the Aggies are terrible and it was a blow out, we still had so much fun. Here we are in our seats:

Here is Jeff with his little girl on this birthday. Jeff bought this outfit for Jillian before she was born, and it's SOOO made for a boy - hence the bow in her hair, which Jeff hates :) We've got to get her some more girly Aggie gear!

Happy Birthday honey - Jillian and I are so blessed to have you as our husband/dad! I cant wait to share many many more wonderful birthday's with the love of my life!
