Spring Break Baby!

We have had such a fun week - even without some of our usual activities going on.  The time change has thrown Jillian off a bit, but since it's Spring Break and it's been gorgeous out - we didn't mind having her up a bit later than normal.

The first weekend of SB was just perfect outside.  Saturday Jeff took Jillian to the Arboretum for a daddy/daughter outing.  We seriously spent almost every waking minute outside playing, doing yard work, and of course playing with the kids next door.  Braden and Haley have quickly become some of Jillian's favorite people.  And I think they would say the same.  Braden came over Saturday and asked if Jillian could come out and play.  How sweet is that?  Haley babysits for us, and do I ever love having her next door!  They keep Jillian entertained for hours on end.  It's so fun.  Some things they have introduced her to are sidewalk chalk (now a favorite) and their trampoline.  I made Jeff get on the tramp with them (since I'm certainly WAY to big to).  She had so much fun jumping and running around.

Kisses for one of their dogs.
Every time we head outside, Jill beelines for Haley and Braden's house.  Hoping they'll be outside playing.  She seriously can spend hours with them.

Monday we didn't have MDO so we met up with a bunch of friends at the zoo and spent almost 3 hours there.  GASP!  That's A LOT of walking around for a big prego lady.  My legs ached the rest of the day!  Here are a couple cute pics of Jillian with some of her friends.  They loved the jeep at the cheetah exhibit.  Of course they all took turns driving.  Jillian and Sam.

Tuesday we has Kindermusik class as usual, ran errands, and played outside.

Wednesday I worked, which means Jillian ALWAYS loves Wednesdays! It's a fun-filled day with Bama!

Thursday Lindsey invited 6 other mama's and their little ones from our Sunday school class to her house for lunch and then frozen yogurt.  YUM!  We had so much fun!  Thanks for the invite Lindsey!
All the kids ran around like wild kids on a sugar high, playing with every single toy of Walker's.   After 2.5 hours of crazy fun with her friends, Jill CRASHED during her nap.  None of the pictures of the kids playing are worth posting... so hard to take cute pics of crazy toddlers running around!  However, Jillian LOVED sweet baby Ellis (the youngest one there).  She got down and did Tummy Time with her.   She also kept wanting to pat her head and hands.  I'm taking it as a good sign that Jillian will dote on her baby brother.
How sweet is Ellis?!  All smiles, happy as can be!

Friday we were supposed to have a playdate with Kristen and her twins, but they were sick and had to cancel.  Boooo!  We have seriously been trying to get together for a couple months, but one of us has been sick!    So instead we went shopping all morning for Spring clothes and to get a few things for our beach trip in a few weeks!  We can't wait to take a little family vacation, enjoy the sun, and teach Jillian how to build sand castles.

This week we've also busted out the hose for Jillian to play in.  We are lovin' this warm weather!
She LOVES to water all the plants!

Talking!

We're still here!!!  I have been so neglectful with my blog lately!  We have been either REALLY sick or really busy.  And sometimes both at the same time.  Jillian brought home about a month ago the nastiest cold........ um......... EVER!  She was really sick for about 2 weeks and of course Jeff and I both caught it.  Jill bounced back pretty quick compared to us.  Jeff and I are both finally almost back to normal.  My Dr. wasn't joking when she said since I'm prego it would take me at least 3 weeks to kick this.  WHEW are we glad that's behind us.  We're also beyond thrilled that cold season is nearing it's end!!

So back to this post title. The past 4-6 weeks Jillian's vocabulary has EXPLODED!  We have been anxiously waiting for her to start talking, not just babbling.  Oh what a precious, sweet, innocent little voice she has.!! Listening to her pronounce words makes us bubble over with joy.  What a FUN milestone.

She started saying quite a few words (beyond mama and dada) around the same time.  So her first official word a few months ago was either Dada or Austin (pronounced Asti).  I think Austin was and still is her FAVORITE word.

Here were her first few words:
Austin (Asti)
UP
Please (peees)
Dada, then to Daddy
Mama
Paci  (paa-ci)
more (mo-mo)  This is usually always in regards to food
help (hep)

Now her vocabulary seems endless (compared to a few months ago)
Squirrel (quirl)
Unchie (onion)
Popa
Nana
Bama (she calls her mama?)
home
moon (mooooo)
bottle (baba)
pillow (the one in her crib is called 'pipo')
baby  (baybee)
Blue (booo)
blueberry (boo ber)
juice
ring (wing)
water (waa waa)
hot - she lets me know when anything could possibly be hot.  like the oven or a light.  she'll put her hand about 6" away from it and turn and look at me and say hot over and over again.

She is learning words so fast, I love it!  It seems almost any word we say, she is trying to say back to us. Which is kind of scary!!!  Jeff and I really have to watch our tongues and our tone of voice (mainly towards Austin).  No more joking around calling each other stupid or idiot :) (ya, know in that flirty way!)  Those are NOT words I want my little girl saying to anyone!

In other news, I CAN NOT believe I'm 24 weeks pregnant!!  Wow this pregnancy is flying by.  We have yet to really work on the nursery or settle on a name!   I know what I want the nursery to look like, now I just need to make it happen!
I think Jillian is in denial she has a baby brother on the way.  Actually she doesn't really grasp the concept there is a baby in my tummy.  But when I tell her there is a baby boy in my tummy, she looks at me real serious and shakes her head no!

I have been beyond terrible with snapping photos lately.  Either I have been too sick or Jillian has had such a nasty runny nose it didn't make sense.  So here are a few pics from last month.

Playing dress up

Body Paint Party in the bathroom
started out really tame...
then crazier...
a full fledged mess!

When I was so sick a few weeks ago I set up a obstacle course with every cushion and soft piece of furniture I could get my hands on.  I also had Nick Jr on all day (which is rarely on!) with all her toys scattered everywhere.
This course seriously entertained her for a couple hours!  The endless cycle of cartoons didn't hurt :)

We LOVE that spring is here!!!  I hope to snap a lot more pictures in the coming months!!
